It has been nearly 8 month since last I wrote, and the time has come to reflect and share a bit of what has been happening. As far as work in the condo nearly nothing has been done. A few months ago my dryer stopped working correctly so I went ahead and upgraded both my washer and dryer. My laundry room is small and has the furnace and water heater in it so I took the opportunity of having two of the four large appliances removed to remove some of the nasty shelving, to spackle and paint the walls. The project is still unfinished, since I would ideally put up some cabinets to house my cleaning products and odds and ends that formerly adorned the shelves. The other projects that I described on here are still a possibility, but will have to wait until my budget recovers from that rather large and unexpected expense.

In love I have not had much more success. There was a brief moment in time when I was dating someone that I have been friends with for a long time. Things were going well, as far as I could tell, spending time together on a short weekend trip to Washington, DC and another longer visit with her in Florida. It came as a bit of a surprise when she suggested that maybe it would be best if we stayed friends. Part of me sees that it would be a chance to save our friendship, since dating can forfeit chances of maintaining it should things go poorly. The other part recalls how happy I was for that short time and wonders if it's not too late, knowing that things will never actually be the same.

I guess the last branch of this update is the career path. Work continues at NJIT, and has picked up as we work to migrate data to Drupal. It has given me a chance to have something challenging to work on. Migrating all of this data is a lot like balancing spinning plates since there are so many things happening. It seems like such a simple process when viewed in abstract, but there are a lot of details to get straight. All of this, as I am inching closer to the door out of here. In a last minute decision I drove down to Tennessee to help out my friend with a job. The work was long, each day lasting at least 12 hours, but I feel like there was a greater sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. The final details would have to be worked out, and it would be a very large decision, but it slowly is becoming more and more likely.

Well, that's it for now. I brief overview of what's been going on. Hopefully it will be less than 8 months before my next entry.
